JJL and Jaefields collaboration tee uses our latest t-shirt style, Brae, constructed with a camouflage brushed poly knit. It was convenient that John knew exactly what he was looking for when we first discussed the idea and it was my job to find the perfect camouflage.
For John, camouflage print represents strength and masculinity, as he has friends and family who served in the military. The print serves as an interesting graphic for styling any everyday outfit. In his own words: "The idea was simple - focus on a t-shirt that can be worn all the time, with everything. The silhouette is elongated, so you can rock it by itself or layered underneath your favorite hoodie or sweatshirt. There's subtle details that are complimentary elements, which add visual interest but aren't distracting."
The fabric print serves as a fashion statement but also function and versatility. Our camo is a sweater knit: 95/5 poly spandex mix creates a very soft, brush feel while the spandex allows the fabric to move with the body. The silhouette of the shirt has an elongated length, with side seam slits, and of course a four way stretch cotton/poly ribbing.
We've limited to 23 pieces, with each shirt having a unique number, personally labeled by John.
John went out of his way to style the shirt in three distinct looks. You can view the looks down below and John's detailed descriptions.
"For the first look, I layered a striped tank, denim jacket, black denim and a pair of statement shoes. I love the contrast of mixing two unlikely paired prints (camo & stripes). They work well together because the stripes are neutral colored and smaller in scale, while the camo print is much larger.
I love black and brown together, because they create a very rich and sophisticated color combination. Plus, the suede and fringe details of the Visvim FBT Shamans add great texture.
Lastly, the denim jacket provides a nice casual touch and since it's a light-blue, adds an extra layer of dimension to what would otherwise be a very dark color palette."
The moto leather jacket gives edge, while the distressed jeans provides an effortless vibe. The Jordan 3 88's are hands-down one of my favorite Jordans of all-time, as the colorway and elephant print is so iconic and also happens to be my birth year; which holds sentimental value.
Overall, the outfit pops because there's a play off of dark and light colors, which work very harmoniously together."
"For the final look, I layered the Jaefields Fanno sweater over my tee, black denim and white kicks.
Since the Fanno sweater is boxy and slightly shorter, it's perfect for layering. As you can see, a good amount of the camo tee shows underneath. I kept everything else simple and neutral, since the top-half has a lot of detail going on.
Granted the sweater is a light grey, the white Ultra Boosts stand-out but in a complimentary way. Collectively the look is simple but effective."
